Charles H. Green

I am currently a finishing PhD Candidate in Philosophy at King's College London and an Associate Tutor in Philosophy at Birkbeck, University of London. I was also recently a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh (spring term 2026) and a Graduate Teaching Assistant at King's (2023-26). My PhD supervisors at King's are Professor Bill Brewer and Dr. Alexander Franklin, and at Pittsburgh I worked with Professor Matthew Soteriou. Before my PhD, I graduated with a first class MSci degree in Physics and Philosophy in 2022, also from King's.

My research mostly focuses on topics in philosophy of mind, general philosophy of science, and metaphysics. These include the metaphysics of colour, perception and visual consciousness, theoretical reduction and emergence in science, and the relationship between perceptual and scientific objectivity. I have taught undergraduate seminars, workshops, and lectures at Birkbeck and King's on philosophy of AI, philosophy of mind (for neuroscience students), logic, metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of physics, philosophical methodology, and philosophy of medicine (for medical students). I was a co-convenor for the philosophy of medicine course.
